Embraer Launches Phenom 300EV with Advanced Safety Upgrades

by Aaheli De
Embraer has launched the Phenom 300EV, the latest evolution of the world’s best-selling light jet, introducing a suite of advanced safety technologies, avionics upgrades and performance enhancements. Announced in Melbourne, Florida, the new variant builds on the success of the Phenom 300 series, which has led its category for 14 consecutive years.

The Phenom 300EV becomes the largest business jet equipped with Garmin Emergency Autoland, a system capable of executing a fully automated landing in the event of pilot incapacitation. Additional safety enhancements include autobrake for improved landing performance and a new Embraer-developed Multi-Purpose Electronic Controller (MEC), which integrates rudder-by-wire and other electronically controlled systems to reduce pilot workload and simplify maintenance.

The aircraft features upgrades to the Garmin G3000 Prodigy Touch avionics suite, incorporating advanced situational awareness tools such as 3D taxiway routing, runway occupancy awareness, synthetic vision guidance and enhanced navigation capabilities. These systems complement existing features including autothrottle, emergency descent mode and runway overrun awareness, further strengthening operational safety across a wide range of conditions.

Performance improvements include an extended range of up to 2,055 nautical miles and an increased maximum zero fuel weight, enabling an additional payload capacity of approximately 430 pounds. The aircraft also introduces lithium-ion batteries and upgraded LED lighting systems to enhance reliability and dispatch performance.

Cabin enhancements focus on passenger comfort and connectivity, with the introduction of line-fit low Earth orbit satellite connectivity via Gogo Galileo. Starlink connectivity will also be available as an aftermarket option. Additional updates include an improved cabin environment system, a redesigned refreshment centre, an odorless vacuum lavatory and an air ionisation system.

The Phenom 300EV maintains key attributes of the series, including a low cabin altitude, large windows, generous baggage capacity and a robust entry airstair.

“For well over a decade, the Phenom 300 series has set the standard by which every light jet is measured,” said Michael Amalfitano, President and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets. “With the new Phenom 300EV, we are raising the bar once again with meaningful innovations that enhance safety, performance and the overall flying experience.”

Deliveries of the Phenom 300EV are expected to begin in 2028, supported by Embraer’s global services network to ensure high availability and long-term operational value.
