Safran wins 16th Crystal Cabin Award with Connected Interiors

Safran’s innovative spirit has been recognized with a Crystal Cabin Award in the IFEC & Digital Services category for Safran Connected Interiors. This is Safran’s 16th award, since the awards were launched eleven years ago to promote excellence in aircraft innovation.

Safran Connected Interiors is developed by Safran Cabin in collaboration with Safran Seats and Safran Electronics & Defense, and aims to transform the way airlines maintain their cabins by introducing a new digital maintenance service for aircraft interiors.

By enabling real-time health monitoring and predictive maintenance for aircraft interiors, we provide visibility digitally – from anywhere in the world, reduced downtime, and lower operating costs. Thanks to the Controller Area Network (CAN bus) & ARINC communication standards, data generated by smart products – such as our NUVO galley inserts range – is collected by a fully autonomous and wireless system, regardless of the aircraft type or age. Another example is the monitoring of any electrical components in seats such as the actuation system, passenger service units or lighting. This data is then processed, enabling airlines to determine more accurately when maintenance should be performed on specific equipment, optimizing operations and extending the lifespan of the products.

With customizable service levels, airlines can anticipate issues before they arise, ensuring the most reliable equipment for the crew and the best experience for the passengers. This connected ecosystem leverages real-time data to improve efficiency and elevate onboard services.
