Lockheed Martin has been selected by the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) as the prime contractor for its next-generation Global Logistics Support Services II (GLSS2) programme. Valued at $10.5 billion over 12 years, the contract will provide sustainment and life-cycle management support for U.S. Special Operations Forces worldwide.
The follow-on contract extends Lockheed Martin’s support of USSOCOM, which began in 2010, and is designed to enhance logistics readiness, enabling rapid deployment and sustained mission effectiveness.
Under GLSS2, Lockheed Martin will continue to provide global supply chain management, including parts, warehouses and depots, along with aircraft, vehicle and equipment maintenance, repair and modification. The contract also covers critical infrastructure support and business process transformation.
“Lockheed Martin is deeply honored to stand beside the men and women of our Special Operations Forces,” said Vic Torla, vice president, Lockheed Martin SOF GLSS. “For more than 16 years, our teams have relentlessly delivered the logistics and sustainment expertise required to accomplish our nation’s most critical missions. We recognize the urgency of every operation, and our dedicated personnel, parts, and services are positioned to meet the SOF warfighter’s needs. Building on the proven success with the SOF CLSS and SOF GLSS programs, we are poised to further transform SOF logistics worldwide, ensuring our exceptional operators always have what they need, when they need it.”
As USSOCOM’s largest service contract vehicle, GLSS2 provides mission-critical support across aircraft and vehicle maintenance, as well as IT and electronics services for the U.S. Special Operations community.
The Lockheed Martin-led Global Logistics Support Services team includes multiple subcontractor partners supporting special operations forces worldwide. Based at Bluegrass Station in Lexington, Kentucky, the programme employs more than 3,300 personnel globally and continues to expand its sustainment and logistics services through a worldwide network of facilities, suppliers and partners supporting around-the-clock operations.
