HAVELSAN’s ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS) has officially entered service with the Romanian Navy, marking its first deployment within a NATO member state. The induction represents a significant milestone in the system’s global expansion and underscores its growing acceptance among allied naval forces.
The delivery was completed as part of the transfer of the CAm.ROMAN corvette to Romania, with ADVENT integrated for operational use by the Romanian Naval Forces. Designed to create a unified operational picture, the system enables multiple naval platforms to operate within a shared network, enhancing coordination and mission effectiveness.
Developed in close collaboration with the Turkish Navy, ADVENT introduces a force-oriented operational concept that goes beyond traditional single-ship combat management systems. It connects various assets across sea, air and subsurface domains, supporting command and control, threat evaluation, target detection, and sensor and weapon management. This integrated approach allows commanders to maintain real-time situational awareness and make faster, data-driven decisions during complex maritime operations.
With an established presence across 10 countries on five continents, ADVENT has already been adopted in regions spanning Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America. Its deployment in Romania now extends its operational footprint into Europe and within NATO, reinforcing its interoperability credentials with allied forces.
The system’s modular architecture enables seamless integration across a wide spectrum of platforms, including patrol vessels, major surface combatants, shore-based command centres, and unmanned systems. Its extended capabilities through the ADVENT ROTA Mission Management System further enhance its role in managing unmanned naval operations.
HAVELSAN continues to advance the ADVENT ecosystem with next-generation developments, including an AI-supported version designed to further optimise operational performance. The Romanian induction highlights the system’s growing international adoption and strengthens HAVELSAN’s position as a key provider of advanced naval combat management solutions.
