Leonardo Restructures Leadership and Operations

Leonardo’s Board of Directors has approved a new organisational structure aimed at strengthening governance, operational efficiency, and strategic execution across the Group.

Under the revised structure, Chairman Francesco Macrì will assume responsibility for Corporate Bodies Affairs and, alongside Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Lorenzo Mariani, will oversee Group Security, Institutional Affairs, and Sustainability. The Chairman will also supervise the Internal Audit function within the Board framework, supported by organisational units including People & Organisation, Communication, Compliance, and Legal Affairs.

Lorenzo Mariani, who will also take interim responsibility for Institutional Affairs, will have direct oversight of key organisational units including Strategy, Technology & Innovation, Commercial and Business Development, Legal Affairs, and Communication. All business divisions — Helicopters, Aircraft, Electronics, Space, Cyber Security, and Automation — will report directly to him, along with the Group’s participated and controlled companies.

Co-General Manager Gian Piero Cutillo will oversee Finance & Investor Relations, Risk Management, Compliance, M&A and Post-Merger Integration, and Digital Solutions & Infrastructure. He will also manage Leonardo Global Solutions and Leonardo International, in addition to holding interim responsibility for Procurement & Operations Governance.

“Together with our colleagues,” said Lorenzo Mariani, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Leonardo, “we face an intense period of work to maintain the Group’s strong competitiveness, increase its production capacity, and accelerate innovation, particularly in emerging domains. With this objective in mind, we must further strengthen Leonardo’s leadership by reinforcing its industrial, technological, and international growth, while continuing to create value for the country, our shareholders, and all the people who work across the Group. It will also be essential to accelerate the execution and delivery of systems already in production or nearing entry into service, while increasing the efficiency and production capacity of Leonardo and its entire supply chain.”

“I would like to express,” stated Chairman Francesco Macrì, “my appreciation for the work carried out so far and my full confidence in the skills, professionalism, and dedication of Leonardo’s people, who are the true driving force behind the Company’s success. The Board of Directors and I will continue to support management in pursuing the Group’s strategic objectives, confident that Leonardo will further strengthen its competitiveness, seize the significant opportunities offered by international markets, and consolidate its role as a leading force in innovation and technological development, making a decisive contribution to the growth of the country’s industrial and technological capabilities.”
