Rheinmetall Secures Multi-Million Euro Skynex Deal

by Arabian_User
Rheinmetall has secured a major international order for its advanced Skynex air defence systems, marking a significant milestone for the company’s air defence portfolio.

The contract, booked in the second quarter of 2026, is valued in the region of several hundred million euros. It represents a first-time agreement with this international customer and supports Rheinmetall’s ongoing efforts to expand its global customer base for advanced air defence solutions.

The agreement covers the delivery of four complete Skynex systems, with an execution timeline of 39 months. The first Skynex battery is scheduled for delivery 21 months after contract signature, followed by subsequent systems at six-month intervals.

The contract scope includes trucks, ammunition, and a comprehensive Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) package. The ILS component ensures operational readiness through training, spare parts, special tools, and consumables.

Rheinmetall Italia is acting as the prime contractor for the project, supported by multiple Rheinmetall Group entities, including Rheinmetall Air Defence, Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles, and Rheinmetall Weapon and Munitions (Switzerland).

The Skynex Air Defence System is a state-of-the-art, gun-based solution designed for very short-range air defence. It is capable of countering a wide range of modern threats, including Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) and Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) missions.

This contract highlights Rheinmetall’s growing position in next-generation short-range air defence technologies.
