Embraer Strengthens Cabin Manufacturing

Embraer has announced the completion of its acquisition of the remaining stake in its joint venture with Safran Cabin, alongside the integration of select Safran Cabin operations in Brazil. This move marks a significant step in strengthening Embraer’s manufacturing capabilities and operational control across key programmes.

As part of the agreement, Embraer has acquired the remaining 50% stake in Mexico-based EZ Air Interior Limited, a joint venture established in 2012 between Embraer and C&D (now Safran Cabin). Located in Chihuahua, EZ Air has exclusively supported Embraer programmes, manufacturing critical cabin components including luggage bins, galleys, lavatories, and floor panels for the E-Jets family.

The agreement also includes integrating part of Safran Cabin’s operations in Jacareí, Brazil, which are dedicated to Embraer programmes. However, engineering service activities in Brazil not related to Embraer will remain under Safran Cabin’s ownership.

Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer, stated that the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy. “Embraer is continuously evaluating opportunities to create value for its stakeholders, and this agreement supports our strategy to expand operations in both the short and long term,” he said. “I would like to thank Safran Cabin for this successful long-term partnership and warmly welcome the new colleagues joining Embraer. Together, we will continue to deliver excellence driven by safety, quality, efficiency and sustainability.”

The transaction was finalised after receiving all necessary regulatory approvals and fulfilling customary closing conditions. This development further consolidates Embraer’s vertical integration strategy, enhancing its control over cabin interiors production while reinforcing its global manufacturing footprint.
