The Indian contingent, represented by troops from The Parachute Regiment (Special Forces), will collaborate with 40 personnel from Indonesia’s elite Special Forces, Kopassus.

GARUD SHAKTI 24 aims to familiarize both forces with each other’s operational procedures while enhancing mutual understanding, cooperation, and interoperability. The exercise is designed to foster bilateral military cooperation and strengthen the bond between the two armies through discussions and rehearsals of tactical military drills.

Activities during the exercise will include the planning and execution of special operations, advanced special forces skills training, and information sharing on weapons, equipment, innovations, tactics, techniques, and procedures. Joint operations will focus on special forces activities in jungle terrain, strikes on terrorist camps, and a Validation Exercise integrating basic and advanced skills. Additionally, participants will gain insights into the lifestyle and culture of both nations, further promoting military cooperation.

GARUD SHAKTI 24 offers both contingents a valuable opportunity to strengthen their relationship and exchange best practices. It will also serve as a platform to achieve shared security objectives and bolster bilateral relations between India and Indonesia.
