On the occasion of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference, the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) and Leonardo marked the completion of deliveries of Qatar’s NH90 helicopter fleet, with the final aircraft of the 28-unit order delivered in late 2025.
The milestone underscores the quality and maturity of the NH90 programme and reflects the strong and enduring collaboration between the QEAF and industry partners. The programme has been supported by NHIndustries and its partner companies, Airbus Helicopters and GKN Fokker, along with the wider ecosystem of suppliers contributing systems, equipment and services to the NH90 platform.
The QEAF is among the NH90 operators that successfully deploy both the Tactical Troop Transport (TTH) and the Naval Frigate Helicopter (NFH) variants, supporting land and naval missions. The first batches of NH90 TTH and NFH helicopters achieved operational readiness in 2022 and have since accumulated approximately 7,400 flight hours, while maintaining an average serviceability rate exceeding 80%.
In parallel, more than 6,800 training hours have been logged over the years, supported by military instructors from the Italian Armed Forces. The completion of deliveries marks a significant chapter in Qatar’s rotary-wing capability development and highlights the long-term partnership between the QEAF and the NH90 industrial team.
