PBS Velka Bites will celebrate its 75th anniversary and record investments at MSV

PBS GROUP will present its latest innovation in aviation technology, the PBS TJ200 jet engine, for the first time in the Czech Republic at the International Engineering Fair in Brno, which will take place from October 7 to 10, 2025. This year, the group is celebrating 75 years since the founding of its plant in Velka Bites. At the same time, it wants to present to visitors to the fair the current dynamic development of production, associated with record investments and the recruitment of hundreds of new employees.

Velka Bites – This year’s participation of PBS Velka Bites at MSV will be marked by a celebratory spirit in light of the 75th anniversary of the plant’s existence. The company has therefore prepared a surprise for visitors to the trade fair. For the first time ever in the Czech Republic, it will unveil a new product in the field of aviation technology to the public – the PBS TJ200 jet engine, the most powerful engine in the company’s history.

“The interest from customers around the world in this engine is enormous.  It is designed for unmanned aerial vehicles, guided missiles, and defence applications, and thanks to its parameters, it can advance and change the needs of airspace defence. It has an excellent power-to-weight ratio, low fuel consumption, and a compact design,” says Milan Macholán, CEO of PBS Velka Bites.

The company will also highlight its current dynamic growth at the trade fair, with PBS GROUP currently investing record amounts in its main production plant in Velka Bites. A new production hall is being built there at a cost of almost one billion Czech crowns, and modern CNC machines and other equipment are being installed. The plant aims to increase jet engine production by more than 200% this year compared to 2024. In addition, the company is also strengthening innovation, for example in the field of auxiliary power units (APUs). It recently entered into a partnership with the American giant Pratt & Whitney to jointly develop a new generation of APUs for military and civil aircraft. The partnership is part of Czech-American industrial cooperation following the purchase of F-35 aircraft. The project will employ around 100 people in Velka Bites.

Thanks to unprecedented interest in PBS products and innovations from customers around the world, investments are also being directed toward employees. Approximately 780 people currently work in Velka Bites, and the company plans to hire more than 200 additional employees. It offers all interested candidates long-term job security and stability, benefits, and, above all, above-average remuneration. The average salary at PBS is currently CZK 64,589, which is significantly higher than the national average.

“We are primarily looking for technical professionals for our aviation division, but also engineers and development specialists who will contribute to innovation and new products. Candidates are attracted not only by the security of a job for many years to come, but also by the opportunity to participate in internationally interesting projects that further advance PBS as a global high-tech leader in aviation,” adds Milan Macholán.

The mentioned innovations are far from being the only ones in the PBS GROUP. Czech jet engines will also expand into new markets in 2025. In April this year, PBS GROUP opened a new production plant in Roswell, Georgia, USA, where it began serial production of TJ40 and TJ80 jet engines in September. The total investment will reach up to 110 million USD. Thanks to investments in the Czech Republic and abroad, innovations, and a stable background, PBS is establishing itself as a global player in the aviation industry and a strong employer in the region.
