ZALA company presented a unique new-generation communication and navigation system — ZALA “GEOCOSMOS” — at the international forum “Unmanned Systems: Technologies of the Future” (Moscow). The development completely solves the problem of dependence on satellite and mobile communications, ensuring reliable operation of aviation systems even in the complete absence or active suppression of traditional communication and navigation channels.

ZALA “GEOCOSMOS” is based on ground-based software-defined communication systems and on-board equipment that form their own distributed and secure network. The system operates in a wide frequency range, which ensures stable, secure communication and high data transfer speeds. A unique algorithm allows you to accurately determine the location of system participants even by the signal of one base station, and increasing their number significantly improves accuracy and expands the coverage area. Each component of the deployed system — both ground stations and onboard devices — is a signal repeater for others, which increases the coverage area of communication and navigation, and also increases the reliability of the system.

ZALA “GEOCOSMOS” supports the joint use of various types of aircraft — both unmanned and manned — in a single airspace, which opens up new opportunities for integrated air traffic control, reducing dependence on GPS / GLONASS and cellular networks. The system fully meets the goals and objectives of the national project “Unmanned Aircraft Systems” to create a seamless digital sky, the requirements of Art. 78 of the Air Code of the Russian Federation and can become the basis for creating a distributed network of control centers throughout the country, being a sovereign independent tool for fulfilling the requirements of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of November 30, 2024 No. 1701 by all UAV owners, guaranteeing flight safety.
Saturation of the civil sector with ZALA “GEOCOSMOS” complexes will allow to quickly equip law enforcement agencies, UAV operators and enterprises of critical infrastructure with a domestic communication and navigation system that does not depend on external factors.
