Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. is showcasing its fielded, NATO-compatible, and fully integrated defense portfolio at DEFEA 2025, taking place May 6–8 at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens. The exhibition highlights Rafael’s operational leadership across multi-layered air defense, precision engagement, digital communications, and force protection.
From Iron Dome and David’s Sling to the globally adopted SPIKE missile family and C4I solutions, Rafael’s systems are already in service with over 70 militaries worldwide. The company’s participation at DEFEA reflects not only its system-of-systems architecture, but also its growing relevance in the evolving European security landscape.
“We’re proud to present Rafael’s most operational, modular, and mission-tailored capabilities at DEFEA 2025,” said CEO & President of Rafael Yoav Tourgeman. “These are systems that enable real-world decision dominance—from maneuvering force protection to long-range precision strike.”
Mobile C-UAS Protection for Maneuvering Forces
Rafael’s showcase is featuring for the first time its vehicle-mounted C-UAS defense array, integrated on a 4×4 tactical platform, combining soft-kill and hard-kill capabilities, along with advanced detection, classification, and neutralization technologies. Designed specifically to protect maneuvering tactical forces against Low Altitude Aerial Threats, the system integrates radar, electro-optical sensors, electronic warfare components, and both laser and missile effectors—providing a full, mobile sensor-to-effector response chain for the modern battlefield.
Rafael is also displaying for the first time its full-size M113 upgrade configuration, featuring advanced survivability, sensor integration, and command capabilities tailored to NATO-standard requirements. This solution represents Rafael’s approach to affordable modernization of legacy platforms to meet today’s digital battlefield demands.
Another highlight is the NLOS Mission Taskforce (NMT), recently acquired by the Hellenic Ministry of Defense. The NMT integrates SPIKE NLOS with advanced electro-optical reconnaissance and C4I systems for real-time, beyond-line-of-sight precision engagement. The taskforce supports maneuvering formations and fixed-site defense, with autonomy in GPS-denied environments.
Supporting systems include:
- SPIKE Missile Family: Deployed by over 40 countries—including 21 NATO members—the SPIKE family supports multi-domain, multi-platform precision engagement across ranges and terrain. From infantry operations to rotary-wing and naval deployments, SPIKE is a proven enabler of flexible, real-time strike capabilities.
- SPYDER All-In-One (AIO): A compact, autonomous short-range air defense capability integrating radar, EO sensors, launchers, and command on a single vehicle. SPYDER AIO provides rapid aerial threat response for both maneuvering forces and strategic installations. The SPYDER AIO has proven its operational capabilities in real time scenarios. The SPYDER family has been acquired by 8 top tier customers worldwide and has been NATO certified since its acquisition by the Czech Republic.
Layered Air Defense and C4I Integration
- David’s Sling System: Rafael’s medium-range air defense solution, deployed with the IDF, incorporates the Stunner interceptor for high-speed, precision engagements against cruise missiles and tactical ballistic threats. NATO-compatible and fully integrated with layered defense structures.
- Drone Dome C–UAS System: Rafael’s short-range C-UAS solution is deployed with NATO-affiliated forces, enhancing counter-UAS operations through advanced RF detection and geolocation capabilities.
- MIC4AD: Rafael’s modular C4I suite allows centralized management of air and missile defense operations, delivering threat prioritization and sensor-effector coordination in real time.
- SPICE 250 ER: A GPS-independent, long-range glide munition with electro-optical scene-matching guidance for precision strike beyond 150 km.
- LITENING SAR & RECCELITE: Combat-proven targeting and ISR pods offering dynamic surveillance, battle damage assessment, and real-time targeting for a wide range of combat aircraft.
Maritime Strike & Digital Connectivity
- Sea Breaker: A fifth-generation missile for long-range, autonomous precision strikes on sea and land targets. Sea Breaker supports GNSS-denied operations with AI-based automatic target recognition and modular launch options.
- BNET Software Defined Radios: Rafael’s broadband, cognitive SDR family enables simultaneous, secure voice, video, and data sharing across thousands of users, supporting joint operations in congested and contested environments.
