BALI INTERNATIONAL AIRSHOW RETURNS IN 2027

Jakarta, 24 April 2025 – Bali International Airshow will return bigger and better in 2027.
Following its success in 2024, the international aerospace exhibition, initially scheduled for 10–
13 September 2025, has been officially rescheduled to take place on 8–11 September 2027.

After more than 28 years, Indonesia once again successfully hosted an international-scale
aerospace exhibition, Bali International Airshow 2024, held in September 2024 at the South
Apron of the General Aviation Terminal, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. Bali
International Airshow 2024 was marked by strong participation from leading global aviation
brands, including Airbus, Bell Helicopters, Boeing, BrahMos, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Garuda
Group, Leonardo (represented by Asia-Pacific distributor Helitech Asia), Lion Air, MBDA, PT
Dirgantara Indonesia, Textron Aviation, and Thales. Exhibitors showcased their latest
technologies in aviation, including commercial passenger aircraft and helicopters, to military
aircraft. The event offered valuable opportunities for both business visitors and the general
public to witness cutting-edge aerospace innovations while expanding business prospects in
Indonesia and the wider Asia region.

With the full support of the Indonesian government, the preparation and execution of Bali
International Airshow 2024 was directly led by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs
and Investment for the 2019–2024 period, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. This support was further
strengthened by key ministers from the Indonesia Maju Cabinet (2019–2024), including Minister
of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga
Salahuddin Uno, and Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso
Monoarfa, as well as Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Agus Subiyanto and the Chief
of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), Air Chief Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo, and his
replacement, Marshal TNI M. Tonny Harjono.

Various forums and discussions on current topics in the aviation and air defense industries were
held during the Bali International Airshow 2024, featuring prominent global figures such as Tony
Blair (Executive Chairman of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and former UK Prime
Minister), Jodi Mahardi (Deputy for Maritime Sovereignty and Energy Coordination at the
Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia), Tony
Fernandes (Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Group), and William Dickey (Director of Business
Development at Bell Helicopter Textron Asia Pacific). The event also included a campaign
promoting the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)—an environmentally friendly aircraft fuel
solution developed by Pertamina. Additionally, military and civil aviation forums were held,
attended by high-ranking air force and civil aviation officials from around the world, particularly
from the Asia-Pacific region.

Several important cooperation agreements in the field of Indonesian aviation have been made
during the Bali International Airshow 2024, including the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the
Bali International Airshow. The LOI was signed by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and
Investment Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of
Tourism and Creative Economy, PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (InJourney), the Indonesian Air
Force (TNI AU), and PT Inaro Tujuh Belas. The agreement sets out the commitment to hold the
Bali International Airshow regularly every odd year.

Andy Wismarsyah, CEO of PT Inaro Tujuh Belas, as the official organizer of the event, expressed
his pride in the successful execution of Bali International Airshow 2024. “It is a great honor for us
to have successfully organized the Bali International Airshow, especially after nearly three
decades without such an event. An airshow is inherently complex and presents many challenges,”
said Andy. The success of this aerospace exhibition is a great source of pride, as it successfully
involved various stakeholders, including government agencies, domestic and international
participants, and facility providers, as well as the presence of important figures and impressive
aerobatic team performances that amazed the public during the Bali International Airshow 2024.
This achievement required careful planning and detailed coordination.

In Andy Wismarsyah’s view, this complexity is the main reason why the preparation for the Bali
Airshow must be thorough and require ample time. “The decision to reschedule the Bali
International Airshow for 2027 was made after considering many factors, including aligning with
government directives regarding the timing of defense and aerospace events, as well as allowing
enough time for detailed coordination with various stakeholders. Therefore, it was decided that
the Bali International Airshow will return on 8-11 September 2027, bigger and better, to ensure
the best experience for all participants and visitors,” explained Andy. He stated that the decision
to hold the Bali International Airshow again in 2027 was also made after the organizing
committee met with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia on
March 10, 2025.

The Vice Minister of Defense, Air Marshal (Ret.) Donny Ermawan Taufanto,
accompanied by the Director General of Defense Potential, Major General TNI Piek Budyakto,
conveyed during the meeting that, in principle, the Ministry of Defense fully supports the Bali
International Airshow in 2027, seeing it as a positive milestone for the development of
Indonesia’s aviation and aerospace industry. He further mentioned that the Ministry of Defense
welcomes and fully supports the event as part of a strategic effort to strengthen the national
aerospace industry, particularly the domestic defense industry, and to advance Indonesia’s
defense diplomacy both regionally and globally. The event is expected to have a significant
positive impact on Indonesia.
