Lockheed Martin, in cooperation with the U.S. Army and the Estonian Government, has successfully delivered the first HIMARS launchers, marking a significant milestone in Estonia’s defence modernization efforts.
The HIMARS will provide the Estonian Land Forces with a highly mobile and combat-proven artillery system, capable of firing Lockheed Martin’s precision munitions against threats ranging from 15 to more than 400 kilometers. A highly effective deterrent, the HIMARS is rapidly deployable and will support the Baltic Partners, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and regional allies.
“We are proud to deliver the first HIMARS launchers to Estonia, providing a credible deterrent that is highly interoperable with allied forces in Europe,” said Tim Cahill, President of Missiles and Fire Control for Lockheed Martin.
“In today’s complex and rapidly evolving security environment, it is more important than ever that our allies can work together seamlessly to deter and defeat threats. Our systems have been tested in real-world conflicts and are proven to exceed expectations, offering unmatched quality, precision and reliability for our global partners.”
Lockheed Martin has doubled its capacity for HIMARS production, enabling timely delivery of this critical capability ahead of schedule and in line with customer needs. The company also just delivered Australia’s first HIMARS.
The HIMARS system offers advanced capabilities, including precision munitions that can augment integrated fire missions, addressing point or area targets. The system’s high degree of interoperability with NATO and allied forces enables seamless integration, providing flexibility for deployment.
