The Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) is about to kick off in Aqaba, Jordan, on September 03-05, 2024. The Middle East Special Operations Commanders Conference will also be held in the same venue as the SOFEX exhibition on September 2. The exhibitions will occur at Aqaba International Exhibition and Convention Centre (AIECC). Located in the Aqaba Airport Street, the AIECC encompasses a total area of 170,000 square meters and includes 8 halls and facilities for various purposes. Each hall covers 2,000 square meters.
Every two years, the global defence community converges in Jordan, for this prestigious event, since 1996. Supported by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) and under the esteemed patronage of King Abdullah II, SOFEX has grown into a cornerstone event for special operations and homeland security.
Over its illustrious history spanning a quarter-century, SOFEX has continually expanded its scope and impact. Today, it stands as a pivotal platform not only for showcasing cutting-edge defence technologies but also for fostering critical dialogues among defence ministers, armed forces chiefs, and special operations commanders from around the world. The theme of this year’s conference, “Special Operations Forces, Minimalism, Self-Sustainment, Collaboration, and Adaptability in the Modern Battlefield and Grey Zones,” underscores its commitment to addressing contemporary security challenges.
