Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. announced the appointment of Christian Flathman as director of public and media relations. Flathman reports to Jeannine Haas, Gulfstream’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer, and manages Gulfstream’s media relations, social media and marketing quality assurance teams.
“Christian brings a great breadth of strategic communications knowledge and experience to Gulfstream,” said Haas. “With his expertise, we look forward to enhancing our domestic and international communications efforts and continuing to cultivate a best-in-class Gulfstream experience for our media partners around the world.” Flathman joins Gulfstream from Exxon Mobil Corporation where he most recently led communications and influencer marketing. At ExxonMobil, he also held positions in automotive marketing; global motorsports and sponsorships; and was global spokesperson for public and government affairs.
Flathman began his aerospace career with Gulfstream in 1997 and worked in General Electric’s corporate and aviation divisions. He has also held communications leadership roles with Michelin and in higher education. Flathman earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., and a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
