Verteil Technologies is one of five globally certified companies to be certified by Qatar Airways to enable the Oryx Connect program for Qatar Airways trade partners.
This is quite a significant move to distribute content directly bypassing the 40+ years legacy GDS channels, connecting with travel agencies offering unique products and content.
After Emirates, Etihad, now Qatar Airways has made their intent clear to promote NDC
Qatar Airways’ New Distribution Capability (NDC) program, Oryx Connect, is now activated on Verteil’s flagship NDC distribution platform Verteil Direct Connect (VDC) for a wide range of Offer & Order Management capabilities inclusive of NDC features such as branded fares, rich content, ancillary products & services. Verteil Technologies is one of five globally certified companies to be certified by Qatar Airways to enable the Oryx Connect program for Qatar Airways trade partners.
Before the pandemic, Qatar Airways flew to more than 160 cities across the globe and launched new destinations at a high rate. Today Qatar Airways is offering more than 140 destinations worldwide and over 1000 weekly frequencies including over 100 weekly flights to the U.S. network. In 2017, the airline launched Qsuite, which quickly received the SKYTRAX World’s Best Business Class award after its launch.
VDC facilitates direct, real-time connectivity with Qatar Airways using NDC APIs thus accelerating the adoption of airline retailing without being constrained by the limitations of current legacy distribution systems. Travel service providers can get access to NDC content from Qatar Airways and the rest of Verteil’s airline partners through Verteil’s distribution platform by either using Verteil’s comprehensive NDC front office tool or integration via Verteil’s Universal API.
“We are pleased to welcome Qatar Airways into the growing list of leaderboard NDC airlines in the Verteil Direct Connect platform. Our mission is to enable direct connectivity between airlines and travel companies opening up unlimited retailing possibilities in the airline e-commerce sector, without being constrained by limitations of legacy technology and this marks an important milestone in our mission. Through our significant presence in leading travel markets including India, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, UK, Europe, and North America, we expect travel companies to greatly benefit from QR’s NDC content”, said Jerrin Jos, Founder & CEO, Verteil Technologies.
NDC is the next technology wave that is modernizing the distribution landscape, with airlines not being constrained by the current legacy distribution systems in introducing innovative products and personalized services. Verteil has been actively working in this domain right from 2016 onwards with a growing customer base. Built by a core team having 100+ man-years of deep domain knowledge in the airline technology domain, VDC is designed to address all the necessary functional and technical scalability considerations required for an NDC distribution platform.
Verteil Technologies Private Limited is a Level 4 NDC Aggregator, with headquarters in India and having a local presence in different regions including Japan, Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Middle East, Africa, UK, Europe, and Americas.
